south hampshire branch home news diary dates about our branch membership resource library support useful links contact us supporting individuals, families and professionals in southern hampshire and beyond the south hampshire branch is a self-funded branch of the national autistic society and run entirely by volunteers. there are an increasing number of people with autism, including asperger syndrome, in the local area. living and working with these people brings great rewards as well as challenges. there is often social isolation of children, young people and adults with autism and their families. the branch can help in a number of ways. we welcome anyone for whom our group may be a helpful resource. for further information, please complete our contact form . to join our branch (it's free!) complete a membership form . visit our facebook page here view the film (new!) and read the report for our autism and mental health consultation please navigate to our diary dates and news pages for all the latest information and view our latest newsletter here . our branch was the 2016 winner of the farooqui award for diversity and inclusion support group our monthly, evening parent/carer support groups are for parents/carers of children, young people and adults with autism, to meet to exchange experiences, skills and understanding. at some meetings we invite guest speakers or have professionals present who can advise on aspects of autism. branch members also have access to our extensive resource library. partners' support group support group specifically for partners of people with autism (whether the partner is diagnosed or not). the meetings are for the partner of the person with autism only (not the person with autism themselves). family youth club we operate a monthly, saturday afternoon, family youth club for these children, their siblings and parents. children's social group we have fortnightly social meetings for children (along with their families). adults' social group we run a fortnightly friendship group for adults and older teenagers (16+), who take part in activities and have social outings. support for teenagers we are able to signpost young people with autism (over 13) to local special local teenage youth clubs . lego club we run a monthly lego club. we are applying the lego therapy framework. lego therapy involves building lego models in small groups or pairs where the children take on different roles and work together. resource library branch members also have access to our extensive resource library . social events social events also take place for the benefit of individuals and their families. contacts we have regular contact with other local support groups . advice as a branch of the national autistic society , we have access to a wealth of advice and information. hampshire autism partnership board our branch is represented on hampshire autism voice, the parent/carer/service-user group of the hampshire autism partnership board. camhs asc parent/carer support group we attend a monthly support group with eastleigh child and adolescent mental health service (camhs) and facilitated by autism hampshire. these free sessions are for any parent/carer that has a child either going through diagnosis or has already received a diagnosis. similar free groups also take place in each of the other 6 camhs areas in hampshire and in southampton. the south hampshire branch is a self-funded branch of the national autistic society and run entirely by volunteers. privacy and t&cs community web kit provided free by bt -- cookie policy | charity number: 269425 --
